Can tourists get tattooed?
Yes. You don't need to live in Türkiye to get a tattoo here. When a studio confirms your appointment, it will tell you what to bring — including any ID it needs.
Age and ID
Minimum age and consent requirements depend on applicable local law. Valid identification may be required. Where applicable, parental or guardian consent and presence may be required for minors, and a studio may apply its own stricter policy. Ask the studio when you enquire rather than relying on what you read online.
How studios are regulated
A tattoo studio in Türkiye operates under a municipal workplace licence. The national Hygiene Training Regulation (2013) explicitly covers places where tattooing and piercing are done: the people providing the service must hold a hygiene-training certificate. It is reasonable to ask a studio about both.
