Start with the idea, not the drawing
You do not need a finished design. A sentence about what you want, why it matters and where it should sit is enough to begin. The more the studio understands the meaning and the feeling, the better the design can carry it.
What to send
- The idea in your own words — and anything it should or should not include.
- References: screenshots, drawings, photos. Several are fine; say what you like about each one.
- Placement: where on your body, and a photo of the area if you are comfortable sharing it.
- Approximate size — a guess is fine; the final size is agreed on your body.
- Your dates in Side, so the plan fits your stay.
Placement and scale change the design
Skin moves, curves and ages. Fine detail needs enough size to stay readable over the years; a long design wants a long placement; a design that crosses a joint has to work in motion. The studio talks these through with you and may suggest changing the size or the composition — a design is never simply scaled up or down.
See it on your body first
Where it helps, the studio can prepare a visual placement preview: your design positioned on a photo of your own body, so you can judge size and flow before anything is decided. It is not something every idea needs, and it is not automatic — the studio suggests it when it will genuinely help your decision.
Freehand and stencil
Most tattoos are transferred to the skin with a stencil, which fixes the design exactly where it was agreed. Some elements can be drawn directly on the body — freehand — to follow its shape. Neither is better in itself; the right method depends on the design, and the studio explains its choice.
The final design and the price
